HEALTH (Healthy Eating and Active Living in TRICARE Households) is a free* weight loss program offered as part of a groundbreaking study sponsored by the Department of Defense TRICARE Management Activity. HEALTH is only available to TRICARE Prime non-active duty beneficiaries inIndiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio.
Individuals may be eligible to participate in this program if they: - are 18 to 64 years of age. - are a family member of active duty personnel, a retired service member or the family member of a retiree, a survivor of a deceased active duty member, or a survivor of a deceased retiree. - have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 or higher and less than 51 (individuals can visit www.dodhealth.org to determine their BMI). *There will be no fee to participate in the HEALTH program. HEALTH includes two studies in which people can participate. Each study involves different levels of interaction and time commitments. All participants will need to invest the time and personal commitment needed for their own weight loss success.
